I spent most of the day reviewing income tax law. Not a terrible start, if dull as hell...
I ended up spending the night reviewing the first couple chapters of a novel written by an old dear friend of mine. "Review", "novel", "old", "dear", and "friend" should never reside in the same sentence. He was abundantly grateful that I was candid and sensitive about his work, but I can't help but think that the rush of new thoughts will be quelled by some overly interpretive view of my words...

Lag
I got to see Parts and Labor play live last night. Very nice band.
Stayed out til 5:30 AM. Oog, I haven't done that in a long time. My old body is paying dearly for that indulgence...

Prep stage
I'm gearing up for finals, which will mean (once again) that you guys'll see no posts for a while, or a sudden flurry of panic stricken gibberish.
In other news, I got my ass handed to me last night in a game of scrabble. Not a totally rare occurrence, but not exactly common. Anyway, this little bruise to my ego has fueled some interesting research into scrabble-legal (yet english-alien) words. It also inspired me to start doing research into word roots that I've been mulling about for years, yet never investigated...

Reposting
So, I missed looking at a full and involved blog, so I reposted some of my old blog posts from the old site. Gah, I tell ya, I had to cut and paste and manually put those puppies back in. I only did my favorite posts. Enjoy the archives :)
Good Times
I'm super busy, but happy. Last night I conquered one of my greatest fears. I generally have great difficulty making presentations to mid-sized groups. I have no idea why. I can speak in front of huge crowds and small groups with no difficulty, but that 25-100 crowd really shook me up. Last night I gave a slam-dunk presentation to a mid-sized group. No fumbling for words, no blanking, no nervousness. I was polished, personable, and worked the crowd. It was a thing of beauty.
So now I'm drinking some incredible coffee and staring at the tree in my backyard. It's the first time I've seen it in the spring, and it's thick with white blossoms. God, I love this apartment.
Ok, back to Tax Law. Huzzah.

Passing the Time
What a great day!
I felt cool today. I mean, really cool. I was walking around park slope dressed to the nines just after getting a hipster haircut. Girls were turning their heads when I walked by and people smiled at me without any provocation. I haven't felt cool in years. I had forgotten how much of a high it was to be noticed and superficially appreciated.
I spent most of the afternoon with Shannon, eating well and half-heartedly watching questionable cable programming. She's thinking of moving back to LA so I'm trying to spend as much time with her as possible.
I've also stopped responding to the emails from the last girl. Best to leave things.
Ok, off I go to watch Osama with my roommate.
